Canine to Five offers obedience for dogs of all ages! Our obedience classes are based on positive re-enforcement. This means we reward the good and correct the bad. We use the Volhard motivational method of training, combined with our own experiences. As a result, we give our classes lessons on obedience, manners and behavior that deal with every day life.

Puppy Class
In our puppy class we let the puppies socialize while discussing puppy issues and behaviors. Housebreaking, chewing, nipping, life stages and how to handle difficult puppy behaviors. This is not an obedience class. This class is geared toward the owner that wants a better understanding of their chosen dog... as well as getting your puppy off to the right start. It is a good idea to follow up with a Level One obedience class. It is for all puppies with at least three sets of vaccines and up to four months in age. The class is four weeks in length, and one may join in at any time.

Level One Obedience
In our level one obedience class, students and dogs learn their basic obedience skills as well as why we teach our dogs obedience. We learn to heel, sit down, stay and come when called. We work on manners and cover issues such as jumping and nipping. Our class time is for the owners to learn and to then take what they have learned, along with their homework sheets, home to work with their dogs. It is a fast paced 6 week course where dogs and handlers progress quickly.

Level Two Obedience
In our level two class we cover the same obedience as in level one, however, we expect more out of our dogs. We do longer down and sit stays, we learn to heel off leash and we train with distractions. We also prepare for the Canine Good Citizen Certificatation.

We offer a basic agility class for those who want to get a taste of the sport. We have all of the basic obstacles and start from the ground up in our beginner class. Come and see how much fun your dog can have!
